01 About the Studio

A small studio, run by two people who care.

Venture Peak Films is a wedding photography and film studio based in Denver, Colorado, run by James and Krista. We document traditional, full-size weddings across the Front Range and beyond, quietly, warmly, and with a great deal of care.

We keep the studio small on purpose. You'll know who is photographing and filming your day, and you'll feel the difference of a team that takes only a limited number of weddings each year.

We're James and Krista.

We're a husband-and-wife team based in Denver, and Venture Peak Films is ours. Together we lead the creative direction for every wedding we take.

This work matters to us because a wedding only happens once, and most of it passes too quickly to hold onto. Our job is to be there for it and to give it back to you honestly: warm, unforced, and true to how the day actually felt.

On the day itself, we try to be present and out of the way in equal measure, close enough to catch the real moments, quiet enough that they still happen. We'd rather earn a photograph than arrange one.

05 Philosophy

Present,
not performing.

The best pictures come from a room that has forgotten the camera is there. So we work to be forgotten, calm, observant, and helpful without ever taking over.

We'll guide you when guidance helps: a gentle plan for the timeline, a word in the right moment, a little direction in good light. And we'll step back the rest of the time, because your wedding isn't a photoshoot with guests, it's a day you should get to actually live.

Warm, natural, unhurried, and honest. That runs through how we work and through everything we deliver.

A Little More

Off the clock.

Between us we come from backgrounds in engineering and biology, which is probably why we're a little obsessive about the details and calm when a timeline gets complicated. Colorado is home, and a love of the light and the landscape here is a big part of why the work looks the way it does.
