02 Why Film
What a photograph can't hold.
A photograph keeps the look of a moment. A film keeps the sound and the motion of it, the things a still image has to leave behind.
Your voices as you say the vows. The way people move down the aisle. The music, the laughter, the half-second of a parent's reaction. A best friend's toast, word for word. We film the way we photograph: close to the day and out of the way, so the finished film feels like the day rather than a highlight reel set to a trending song.

05 On the Day
Filming you'll hardly notice.
A film team should be felt in the finished film, not during the wedding. We work quietly and stay coordinated with everyone else in the room.
We keep the team small and our positions planned, so we can capture movement without stepping into a photograph or crowding a moment. Before the ceremony we prepare audio discreetly, a small microphone, set early, so the vows are clean without any fuss.
We work hand in hand with your planner and, when booked together, with our own photographers, one plan, one sensibility, so nothing competes for the same corner of the room.
Together
One team, one plan.
When you book photography and film together, they are made by one coordinated studio rather than two vendors who met that morning.
The teams share a single timeline and a single sensibility, so the photographs and the film feel like the same wedding, because they are. Combined coverage is planned as one experience, not sold as a discount.
Optional Addition
Super 8, for a little real grain.
As an optional addition, we can shoot part of your day on genuine Super 8 film, a warm, textured, slightly imperfect layer woven into the highlights.
Super 8 is real film, and we won't pretend otherwise: our digital footage is beautiful, but it isn't film, and we never dress it up as such. When you add Super 8, you get the actual thing, grain, softness, and all. Mention it in your inquiry if it appeals to you.
A client's words about the film
“James recorded the video for our wedding, and it's beyond perfect. It well exceeded our expectations.”

07 Film Questions
Good to know.
A few questions we hear most about the films. If yours isn't here, just ask in your inquiry.
Every film collection includes a main wedding film. A fuller ceremony film and a separate toasts film are included in select collections. Exact deliverables and lengths are set when you book.
Yes. We record real audio from the day, the vows, readings, and toasts, using small, discreet microphones set up before the ceremony, so your own voices carry the film.
Yes. Drone footage is included in every film collection whenever the venue permits it and conditions allow, and we include drone photos in our photography collections where possible. Some locations and weather can rule it out, so it's not something we can promise for every wedding.
Yes. You can book film on its own, photography on its own, or both together. If you'd like both, you can read about our photography too.
Yes. Super 8 is an optional addition, genuine film, not a digital effect, woven into the highlights of your day.
The team is kept small and is led by the studio owner. The exact number depends on your collection and the size of the day, and is confirmed when you book.
